About The Position

Mitsubishi Power in Orlando, Florida is seeking a Component Engineering Intern. As part of our IGNITE Internship Program, you won't just observe—you'll contribute. Interns provide technical support to manufacturing, repair, and field service teams, and take technical responsibility for assigned component families—ensuring safe, high-quality delivery that meets customer requirements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering from an accredited college or university with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
  • Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering majors preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as industry reports and technical journals.
  • Ability to make judgment decisions based on material specifications or technical requirements
  • Advanced personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, programming language, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Build foundational knowledge of gas turbine sub-assemblies, including measurements, technical drawings, and standards.
  • Support manufacturing floor operations by developing and testing improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement (CI) projects.
  • Interpret technical reports and work instructions with accuracy.
  • Ensure proper documentation of quality processes and standards.
  • Assist in process optimization, automation integration, and elimination of non-value-added activities.
  • Work with leads to manage component-specific repair projects, including scope development, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned components, resolving issues and ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain repair process templates, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional efforts to ensure project completion, documentation, and first article inspections.
  • Support process optimization by eliminating non-value-added work and improving efficiency.
  • Provide engineering support for product and process improvements, including customer updates and technical reporting.
  • Support ISO 9001 compliance and audit readiness.
  • Maintain high standards of safety, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Participate in team-building efforts and communicate effectively across all levels.
