About The Position

IEF PDT Lead II - ESE Sustaining Projects and Special Missions in GAC Savannah Position Purpose:IEF PDT Lead II is dedicated to a specific program or project group and manages specific functional activities within one or more engineering directorates. Position is responsible for the coordination, integration, and management of the specified functional activities required. to support program objectives, including but not exclusive to the development and certification of a new or derivative aircraft, changes to the same, entry into service, and sustaining support for a particular program or project group. This role is to be utilized in the IEF organization only. Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions: Reports to functional director and is assigned to a specific program or project group . Coordinates with chief project engineer to establish and communicate program goals, objectives and priorities . Coordinates with functional managers to provide the required. skillsets to support program objectives . Coordinates with functional managers and deployed technical staff to develop a resource loaded plan and integrated schedule to meet program objectives . Coordinates with other PDT leads to form small cross-functional, integrated teams to execute sub-projects, solve problems, or implement strategic initiatives aligned with higher level goals and objectives . Tracks and updates project plans and status . Identifies program barriers and risks and actively manages mitigation plans . Balances staff and skill mix with functional manager to meet both allocated budget and schedule targets . Collaborates with functional manager to provide performance feedback and development opportunities for deployed technical professionals assigned to the program or project . Demonstrates teamwork, ownership, technical rigor, agility, and learning while achieving results for the program and company .Perform other duties as assigned.Other Requirements: Demonstrated track record of collaboration and teamwork. Demonstrated customer-focus, able to anticipate and address customer needs. Demonstrated capability to understand and influence the technical disciplines covered by the scope of their responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to adapt and effectively lead with changing requirements, information, or priorities. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate at all levels—able to clearly and concisely describe complex technical problems and listen with the intent to learn.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience managing Avionics and/or Aircraft Electrical Systems projects, including oversight of supplier performance
  • Experience with FAA (14 CFR Part 25) and/or EASA (CS-25) certification
  • Bachelor's Degree Engineering or related curriculum required
  • 13 years engineering experience to include at least 5 years program management experience consisting of any combination of supervisory experience or complex program management
  • This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
  • Demonstrated track record of collaboration and teamwork
  • Demonstrated customer-focus, able to anticipate and address customer needs
  • Demonstrated capability to understand and influence the technical disciplines covered by the scope of their responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt and effectively lead with changing requirements, information, or priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Special Missions program experience
  • Knowledge of avionics and electrical systems spanning G450, G550, G650, G400, G500, G600, G700, and G800 platforms
  • Experience with RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-178, and RTCA DO-254
