About The Position

As a Qualcomm IE-IoT Platform Architecture Hardware Engineer, you will architect, plan, design, optimize, verify, and test electronic systems, circuits, Digital and Analog systems, and test systems, which launch cutting-edge, world class products in the IoT market space. Qualcomm Engineers collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to meet performance requirements. A successful candidate should have knowledge of and preferably experience in electronic system architecture and design ranging from handheld devices to industrial computing. Knowledge of component selection, electronics system design, and PCB design are key, with knowledge of PCB manufacturing, CCA assembly, and Final Assembly and Test as a plus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR
  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and 0-2 years of Hardware Engineering experience or related work experience.
  • Experience with hardware system design, system integration, schematic capture, and circuit simulation software.
  • Experience with hardware system validation and standard measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, etc.).
  • Ability to travel internationally to India, Taiwan, Europe, and China as required by project schedules

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, develop, and evaluate electronic systems, select components, and learn or guide PCB layout for retail and industrial electronic equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal or 3rd party manufacturing contacts to fabricate hardware systems
  • Verify and test designs to ensure requirements and compliance
  • Develop new and impactful
  • Conduct detailed reviews and analysis of designs to ensure implementation meets appropriate power, performance, area, compliance, and cost
  • Coordinates or conducts specialized analyses (e.g., feasibility studies, signal integrity, power integrity, etc.) to verify design performance
