About The Position

BAYADA Home Health Care is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSP) to work one-on-one with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (I/DD) in home and community settings. The role involves acting as a companion and mentor to help clients reach their full potential and live more independent, purposeful lives. The company offers a Habilitation Apprentice Program for individuals with no prior healthcare experience, providing paid training to gain skills in supporting people with I/DD such as autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome. As an apprentice, you’ll get paid a competitive wage while you train and gain skills to help people with I/DD, teaching them to do things for themselves.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

One year experience working with intellectual and development disabilities

Responsibilities

Provide personal care assistance (dressing, grooming, basic hygiene)
Accompany clients on errands and appointments
Spend time on the client’s favorite hobbies and activities
Assist with everyday tasks, such as meal preparation
Participate in community integration activities
