As a Deploy Technician in AWS you will get to help build and maintain a Cloud Computing Infrastructure across a number of local and remote Edge locations in the Americas. The role involves some periods working independently from your team and requires the ability to drive change while maintaining excellent communication. You are someone who is highly autonomous, very detail oriented and possesses very strong written & verbal communication skills. You will have previous hands on technical troubleshooting experience and a proven ability solving complex problems. You possess strong technical knowledge of fiber optics and networking equipment. You will have experience building relationships with internal and external teams/customers along with innovating effective solutions to meet issues & problems as they arise. You maintain high standards for colocation cabling and maintenance. You seek out ways to improve yourself and the processes and systems with which you work. Most of all you will also have a passion for technology along with a desire to be the best at your job every day!

Requirements

1+ years of Linux operating systems experience
1+ years of computer networking experience
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
Experience in computer networking
Experience working with Linux operating systems
Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines
Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system
Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies
Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)

Responsibilities

Installation and configuration of routers, switches and DWDM hardware.
Troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, network installations and configuration.
Coordinating colocation remote hands for new capacity installations.
Coordinating colocation remote hands and eyes for any network issues.
Resolving colocation facility issues.
Identify, coordinate, and remediate outside plant (OSP) connectivity issues.
Participating in small to mid-size projects creating or expanding colocation sites.
Building relationships with remote facilities to ensure swift response times to events.
Performing site audits to ensure safety and quality meets AWS standards.
Improving all operational processes within each site and/or cage.
Updating AWS tools.
Providing status updates to stakeholders via internal tools.
Decommissioning of cabling and network hardware in collaboration with partner teams as needed.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.
The base pay for this position ranges from $55,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125,100/year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
