We are currently looking for a ICP-MS Lead to join our growing team! JOB SUMMARY The ICP-MS Chemist Lead will be responsible for testing sample utilizing ICP-MS instrumentation and provide leadership to the heavy metals team.

Requirements

  • BS degree in chemistry
  • Must have 3-5 years extensive experience with ICP/MS and ICP-OES, including but not limited to maintenance, troubleshooting, and method optimization/development
  • Demonstrated supervisory/leadership experience leading a team of heavy metals/trace metals chemists or technicians
  • Strong relevant quantitative skills
  • High level of computer skills and familiarity with data acquisition software
  • Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Good conceptual basis in analytical chemistry
  • Proven ability to perform standard chemical laboratory techniques

Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis using one or more of the following techniques: ICP-MS or other instrument in a timely fashion maintaining a high level of quality.
  • Performs non-routine analysis, as required.
  • Performs preliminary sample preparation, when needed.
  • Proactively assists in development and validation of methods, as required.
  • Ability to work with heavy volume.
  • Successfully participates in proficiency testing.
  • Participates in relevant ISO QA/QC activities and documentation thereof.
  • Lead the heavy metals team of chemists.
  • Reports results for tests.
  • Prepare standards and maintain their inventory.
  • Other duties as required.
