The Manufacturing Supervisor will play a pivotal role in this journey at Magnum Ice Cream’s Sikeston facility, the largest producing ice cream factory in the world. This position is responsible for key aspects of the integrated manufacturing process. This position also has an overall business responsibility. As a Production Supervisor at TMICC, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring both safety and performance on the factory floor. Managing processes is just the beginning; your real impact will be in building a workplace where people succeed and develop. This role is responsible for performing all job functions in the safest manner possible while completing every step involved in the production and packaging of our products. Supervisors play a key role in interviewing and hiring, ensuring that TMICC standards for screening, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees are consistently met. They also work closely with HR to align on people-related objectives and maintain accurate documentation, training manuals, and other essential records. A critical part of the role is coaching and developing team members through regular feedback, skill-building conversations, and performance check-ins to foster engagement, capability growth, and operational excellence. Finally, supervisors help employees feel connected to the business by communicating regularly and taking a humanistic approach in all interactions. Requirements

  • College degree in a manufacturing related field preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all personnel levels.
  • Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures and ensure clear communication of them.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and work on multiple tasks.
  • Ability to make supervisory-level decisions.
  • Ability to handle disciplinary actions and proper documentation.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of technical machinery or process equipment.
  • Must understand lubrication, sanitation, change-over, KPIs, new products, PM process.

Responsibilities

  • Line performance – Supervisors are responsible for making sure that the day-to-day line issues are being addressed and the machine functions at optimum performance daily.
  • Technical aptitude – Supervisors must be able to understand the production equipment and be able to solve mechanical problems.
  • ICMS Facilitation – Supervisors participate as active ICMS leaders including focusing on continuous improvement and coordination of production floor tasks related to team projects.
  • Line maintenance – it is the responsibility of the Supervisor to make sure that line maintenance is issued and completed. The Manufacturing Supervisor and the Maintenance Supervisor will need to work together and build a harmonious relationship so that the KPI for downtime can be achieved.
  • Delegate work assignments with consistency– it will be the responsibility of the supervisor to delegate work assignments to the proper personnel. The supervisor will actively coach as well as follow-ups to ensure those assignments are being completed.
  • Product quality – it is key that supervisors ensure production of a consistent and quality product at designated cost.
  • Startups and changeovers – This role is very important because of the demand/change of the business. Tasks include implementation of the changeover program, startup check sheets, refinement of the process, communicating, planning, production meetings, etc.
  • Work with support departments – It is imperative that the Supervisor works hand in hand with the support departments so that KPIs can be met (e.g., HR, Logistics, QA, etc.). Must understand support department’s purpose.
  • ICMS, Visual Mgt., 5S – it is the responsibility of the Supervisor to engage in all aspects of ICMS, Visual Management, and 5S. It will be important to engage in these activities so that we can show continual improvement in our manufacturing facilities.
  • Coordinate, with production and freezer/warehouse departments, changeovers and moving of equipment to storage.
  • Ability to navigate and use web-based programs such as Buildapp, Megamation, DFOS, SAP, Microsoft and SPC
