About the Israeli American Council: The mission of the Israeli American Council (IAC) is to build an engaged and united Israeli-American community that strengthens our next generations, the American Jewish Community, and the State of Israel. Since its foundation in 2007, activism and civic engagement have been one of IAC’s core organizational pillars, with the goal to organize, educate, energize, and mobilize local communities in support of Israel and the Jewish people. In recent years, the IAC gained specific expertise in addressing antisemitism in public school systems, on college campuses, and in public spaces – educating and empowering teens, students, educators, and community members; resolving incidents of antisemitism; and training a network of civically engaged communities across the nation. The combination of vast experience and national infrastructure uniquely positions the IAC to fight one of the greatest challenges facing our community. About IAC Civic Engagement and Fighting Antisemitism: The IAC holds a cutting-edge network of local-hubs that organize, educate, energize, engage and mobilize local communities in support of Israel and the Jewish people. This is done on three fronts: K-12; Campus; Public Spaces. We believe that activism is most effective when the community is at the front, empowered with all the necessary tools and support. For that, the IAC leverages our network of local communities and committees across the country for grassroots civic engagement initiatives and mobilization. We also leverage IAC’s nationwide leadership programs and alumni to educate, train, and activate Israeli American change agents. Activism Coordinator Job Purpose: The Activism Coordinator's goal is to be the professional activism resource for the region (k-12). He/She will report directly to the Regional Director while receiving professional guidance from the National Director of Community Engagement and Fighting Antisemitism. He/She must be a committed member of both teams and sustain close relationships with team members (both regional and professional), local stakeholders in the region, and partner communities & organizations in the pro-Israel space. This is a 15-hour-per-week position.
