About The Position

The I&E Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and instrumentation systems on industrial projects. This role involves supervising a team of technicians, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and coordinating with other trades to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in electrical and instrumentation work, with at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations, such as NEC, NFPA, and ISA.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of I&E technicians, electricians, and instrument technicians.
  • Assign tasks, provide guidance, and ensure that work is completed efficiently and according to specifications.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities for team members.
  • Oversee the installation, calibration, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems, including control panels, motors, switches, sensors, and other components.
  • Ensure that all work is performed in compliance with relevant codes, standards, and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Enforce safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct safety meetings and training sessions for team members.
  • Perform safety inspections and audits to identify and address potential hazards
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, maintenance team, and other trades to schedule work activities and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Communicate project updates, deadlines, and requirements to the team.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure that all installations and repairs meet industry standards and client expectations.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to verify the functionality and reliability of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Address any deficiencies or non-conformities promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, inspection reports, and equipment manuals.
  • Prepare reports for management and clients as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant documentation and record-keeping requirements.
