Worldwide Professional Solutions is seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and motivated I&C/LSS Project Manager/Superintendent to join our growing team in West Lafayette, Indiana for a large-scale Advanced Manufacturing / Technology construction project. Candidates for this position must demonstrate a proven track record of success in I&C / LSS (Instrumentation & Controls/Life Safety Systems) construction Project Manager/Superintendent skillset, supported by prior hands-on construction experience. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, technically skilled, highly organized, and able to communicate clearly and effectively while operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The candidate’s work history should reflect progressively increasing levels of responsibility throughout their career. Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or semiconductor construction experience is preferred. Local candidates highly preferred. Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the USA.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction or engineering roles supporting Instrumentation, Controls, and Life Safety Systems within industrial, high-tech, or mission-critical facility environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of PLC, DDC, Scada, and low-voltage control systems, including system integration and coordination in complex facilities.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with fire alarm and life safety system requirements, testing protocols, and multi-trade coordination.
  • Proficiency in interpreting control schematics, point-to-point diagrams, riser diagrams, device layouts, and P&IDs.
  • Proven experience coordinating with multiple trade partners and field teams in active construction environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve field constructability issues and collaborate with design professionals to implement real-time solutions.
  • Proficient in reviewing and managing redlines, submittals, and turnover documentation.
  • Comfortable using project and design collaboration platforms such as Bluebeam, BIM 360 / ACC, and Excel-based tracking tools.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Controls Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting system commissioning, loop checks, and controls device validation is preferred.
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems or other relevant Life Safety qualifications are a plus.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical authority and point of contact for all Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) systems, including low-voltage power, signal wiring, PLCs, BMS, DDC, and equipment/system integration.
  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of Life Safety Systems (LSS), including fire alarm, smoke control, emergency notification, and associated low-voltage safety infrastructure.
  • Provide field oversight and verification of active installations to ensure compliance with approved contract documents, redlines, and project specifications.
  • Review and provide technical input on installation methodologies, system integration challenges, and cross-discipline coordination with mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Participate in submittal reviews and responses to RFIs, with particular focus on system compatibility, control logic, device mounting, and interface requirements.
  • Partner closely with QA/QC teams to support inspection planning, witness testing activities, and validate system closeout documentation for I&C and LSS scopes.
  • Interface regularly with general contractors, trade partners to ensure scope clarity, adherence to quality standards, and timely execution of work packages.
  • Support the development of redline drawings and turnover documentation by verifying as-built conditions and system integration records.
  • Conduct system walkdowns and commissioning readiness reviews, with emphasis on verifying controls functionality and life safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with client and General Contractor commissioning teams during system startup and functional testing of I&C and LSS systems.
  • Proactively identify and escalate risks, schedule impacts, or quality concerns to the Construction Manager, collaborating on effective mitigation and resolution strategies.
