About The Position

Is your ideal job working outdoors, with water, collecting and analyzing data? We are hiring a highly motivated and dedicated earth scientist interested in hydrology and hydrography! In this role, you will apply science and creativity to solve real-world problems and ensure important hydrologic and meteorological data reach our decision makers. You will calculate low flow and flood flow discharge measurements, do routine maintenance on and troubleshoot field monitoring equipment, data quality control, survey, hydraulic analysis, and data analysis. Candidates should live within 30 miles of La Grange to be available for occasional night, weekend, and holiday work. Whether you are new, junior, or a senior level hydrologist, we want you!

Requirements

• Four or more years of experience in hydrology, such as performing equipment installation/maintenance, hydrologic data collection and hydrologic analysis or relevant experience.
• A degree(s) in hydrology, water resources, electronics, engineering or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
• Driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of hydrologic tools and test equipment.
• Knowledge of remote data collection systems.
• Knowledge of operating heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of AC and DC electrical wiring.

Responsibilities

• Gather and track hydrologic data and observations.
• Construct streamflow and precipitation monitoring stations.
• Install and maintain field instruments.
• Educate and communicate to internal and external customers on lake and river operations and conditions.
