About The Position

Freedom Motors USA serves the handicapped community by converting vans and SUV’s in to wheelchair accessible vehicles. Since 1987 we have been the industry leader and innovator. Freedom Motors USA is the original pioneer of the rear-entry conversion, and the first in the industry to convert a wheelchair accessible SUV. We provide unprecedented options for our clients in terms of choice and safety. The Hydraulic Technician will install all components of our hydraulically activated ramps. This includes the hydraulic cylinder and pump along with all required tubing. The technician will also install our control module and remote control module. This will require the ability to solder wiring. The technician will also need to be skilled at using angle grinders, a bandsaw and basic hand tools. Fabrication to interior panels will be required. A day in the life of an Automotive Hydraulic Technician: Install electrical connectors to finish wiring Connect rigid hydraulic lines between pump and cylinder Assemble and install hydraulic pump units Install hydraulic cylinders Assemble and install remote control electronics Modify plastic panels for body and cylinder mounts Operate and troubleshoot hydro/electrical system Use hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills, band saw, etc. Assist other areas as needed When you join Freedom Motors USA, you do more than simply switch companies to advance your career. Requirements

  • Mechanic experience with some with hydraulic and electrical knowledge
  • Other relevant experience may include plumbing, HVAC, farm repair, mining equipment manufacturing

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical connectors to finish wiring
  • Connect rigid hydraulic lines between pump and cylinder
  • Assemble and install hydraulic pump units
  • Install hydraulic cylinders
  • Assemble and install remote control electronics
  • Modify plastic panels for body and cylinder mounts
  • Operate and troubleshoot hydro/electrical system
  • Use hand tools including, but not limited to, grinder, body saw, impact drivers, hand drills, band saw, etc.
  • Assist other areas as needed
