Overview of Responsibilities: The HYD Technician is responsible for the disassembly, inspect, repair, and overhaul, modifications and reassembly of Hydraulic components. Technicians perform routine, non-routine and preventative maintenance on all parts of the aircraft according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Silver Wings Aerospace.

  • Must be able to provide your own tools.
  • Must be capable of using standard tools to include, but not limited to; screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets and sockets, torque drivers and wrenches, multi-meters, soldering irons, micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, flow meters, psi gauges, temperature measurement, safety wire pliers, or any other tool required for a particular maintenance function.
  • Experience in aircraft manufacturing, installation, and repair/overhaul of aircraft components. Familiar with aircraft specifications as applied to final and in-process inspections.
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aircraft Regulations (FAR).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, Standard Repair Manuals (SRM), & component maintenance manuals (CMM).
  • Must read and write the English language.
  • 1 year Minimum Experience in Aerospace industry Preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to troubleshoot most if not all problems in our processes and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work beyond 40 hours/week as required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
  • Requires frequent walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and balancing.
  • Requires occasional reaching above shoulder level, kneeling or squatting.
  • Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Regularly required to use hands and fingers.
  • Works in moderate noise levels.

Responsibilities

  • Perform work assignments as determined by the shop management.
  • Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with approved technical data, to customer supplications and regulatory requirements.
  • Uses appropriate inspection techniques, and calibrated equipment for the unit/part being accomplished.
  • Utilizes the proper test equipment or suitable alternative and performs preventative as needed.
  • Records information and accomplishes the work assignment in compliance with the Inspection Procedures Manual and Quality Policies and Procedures.
  • Provide timely quotes of units.
  • Maintain personal and shop calibrated tools is satisfactory operational condition.
  • Comply with all safety directive and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
