About The Position

Price Engineering, a SunSource company, specializes in engineered custom products and solutions through engineering resource management, research, planning and development in the areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and electrical systems. www.priceeng.com The Cyclone Hydraulics Product Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the entire life cycle of the product line from design, to manufacturing, to marketing and sales. This position works closely with sales teams and marketing in the promotion and sales of Cyclone Hydraulics. These efforts will include organizing sales blitzes, webinars, training, coordinating print and digital content and overseeing standard parts, price lists and discounts. Sales teams include not only SunSource, but also approved distributors and direct customers around the world. In addition, the Product Manager will also work closely with engineering in the design and application of Cyclone Hydraulics’ products. The role includes researching competitive technologies, gathering important customer requirements, guiding product improvements and new designs, and evaluating supply chains for new suppliers. Cyclone Hydraulics is a Price Engineering branded product line featuring the patented Cyclone Hydraulics™ Reservoir. This revolutionary product helps global OEMs downsize their hydraulic reservoir by as much as 90%. It reduces oil volume, has much smaller space requirement and weighs far less than traditional hydraulic reservoirs. Today it is available in sizes for 8, 13, 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100 GPM applications. Cyclones are available in Nylon and Steel configurations with a variety of options.

Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year engineering or technical degree is preferred
  • A Business degree with background in mechanical equipment and/or machinery
  • 5+ years as Sales Engineer, Application Engineer, or Product Marketing Manager in fluid power or similar fields
  • Must have demonstrated regular interaction with customers in the sales process
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in utilization MS Excel and other typical office software

  • Fluid Power certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Cyclone Hydraulics™ management of the product platform across North America and abroad including sales literature, pricing, manufacturing and logistics.
  • Work with SunSource Sales and Global Distribution in targeting product solutions for key industries through product training webinars and target marketing.
  • Develop close relationships with current and prospect key suppliers that can supply value-add design and logistics to the Product Line.
  • Gain understanding of global competition and successfully oversee the product line for long term growth and profitability.
  • Document all sales activities in the company CRM platform.
  • Help create sales proposals based upon customer requirements.
  • Follow up with sales team in closing opportunities.
  • Develop strategic plans for growing in target markets and geographies.
  • Gain knowledge and assist in setting up export ready products and services.
  • Report on sales growth, profitability and market share on a regular basis.
  • Encouraging the engineering and sales team members to share information by emphasizing the importance of each team member's contribution and demonstrate how all their jobs operate together to move the entire team closer to its goal.
  • Be a part of the team and work alongside of them by active listening, coaching and mentoring.
