Fluid power is commonly seen in markets that include packaging, mining, offshore/marine, medical, material handling, construction, aerospace, automation, robotics, and entertainment. Our Fluid power systems are comprised of a myriad of components, including pumps, cylinders, valves, hose, fittings and much more. Professional development and training Great work/life balance The Hydraulic Cylinder Repair Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the hydraulic cylinder repair department, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective repair of hydraulic cylinders and related components. This role is responsible for supervising cylinder repair workflow, maintaining safety and quality standards, and collaborating with other departments to meet customer expectations and production goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma. Candidates with an associate's degree or higher education preferred.
  • Detail-oriented and strict adherence to high quality standards.
  • Prior experience in hydraulic cylinder repair, including supervisory or lead technician roles.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, seals, tolerances, and cylinder machining processes preferred. Candidates who do not possess these skills and have the desire and ability to learn will be considered. Note that occasional factory trainings (two to three weeks of travel per year typically) are to be expected.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Proficient in using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and repair documentation practices.
  • Must have and maintain a current driver’s license and acceptable driving record and be able to obtain forklift certification and DOT license.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards. Conduct regular safety reviews and equipment inspections.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of hydraulic cylinder repairs.
  • Visit customer sites to inspect and retrieve products suitable for repair, using a company truck (DOT license must be obtained upon hire).
  • Crossover/reverse engineer competitive or unlabeled products to preferred brands.
  • Communicate with sales and customer service teams regarding repair status and technical findings.
  • Troubleshoot cause of failure and offer prevention recommendations accordingly.
  • Identify cylinder parts needed for repair and generate quotes with accurate labor and material inputs.
  • Enter sales orders and manage them through to completion, monitoring progress and timeliness of sourced materials, ensuring timely completion of repairs.
  • Prioritize workflow based on customer requirements, ensuring uptime of our clients.
  • Provide technical guidance to cross-train and supervise non-departmental technicians on the proper disassembly, inspection, machining, reassembly, and testing of hydraulic cylinders.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM specifications and quality standards.
  • Monitor shop productivity and implement process improvements. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts usage, and labor hours.
  • Manage inventory of all repair parts.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as needed.
