Supports the corn breeding program by executing key activities related to corn yield trials, including seed preparation, data collection, and analysis. This role also involves training and supervising temporary part-time staff assisting with yield trial operations, ensuring high-quality execution of breeding tasks.

  • Manage corn yield trials across all stages of the product development lifecycle.
  • Accurately collect, record, and communicate yield-related data using manual observations and specialized software tools.
  • Develop clear, concise reports to present findings to supervisors and the broader management team.
  • Monitor processes to identify inefficiencies and contribute to strategies that improve yield, reduce waste, and enhance quality.
  • Support the production of hybrid corn seed for evaluation in future breeding cycles.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, quality control measures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
  • Train and supervise seasonal staff involved in nursery operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field required, a master’s is a plus.
  • One (1) - three (3) years of relevant experience in crop development, breeding, or agricultural research.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and meet MVR guidelines.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 Lbs.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including occasional weekends and some international travel.
  • Expect extended hours and varying weather conditions during peak planting and harvest seasons.
  • Must be able to work safely in outdoor environments and around agricultural equipment.
  • A master’s is a plus.
  • Skilled in drone piloting and post-flight data extraction is a plus.
  • Experience in managing a large corn nursery breeding operation is a plus but not required.
