We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join our Hollister-Whitney team at Vantage Elevation. About Us Vantage Elevation, LLC is North America’s leading independent manufacturer of elevator components and systems. Vantage is comprised of eight business units including GAL Manufacturing, GAL Canada, Hollister-Whitney, Elevator Controls, Courion, Bore-Max, Thames Valley Controls, and Vertical Dimensions. Position Summary The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading daily shipping operations to ensure products are shipped safely, accurately, and on time. This role oversees all aspects of shipping, including packing, labeling, staging, and shipment of products, while ensuring compliance with company standards and customer requirements. The Shipping Supervisor is a visible, hands-on leader who drives performance, supports employees, and partners cross-functionally with production and materials teams to ensure efficient flow of goods.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, shipping, or warehouse operations
  • Experience in a union environment preferred
  • Knowledge of shipping, logistics, and material handling processes
  • Forklift experience and understanding of safe handling practices
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping documentation, and labeling
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Lead and enforce safety standards, including PPE compliance and safe material handling practices
  • Supervise daily shipping operations to meet on-time delivery and accuracy expectations
  • Ensure products are properly prepared for shipment, including packing, labeling, and staging
  • Verify shipment accuracy and compliance with customer and company requirements
  • Maintain a visible presence on the floor and proactively address operational issues
  • Train, coach, and develop team members to meet performance expectations
  • Monitor workflow, staffing, and throughput to align with production demands
  • Coordinate with production, materials, and planning to ensure timely shipment of finished goods
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and organization within the shipping area
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and applicable labor agreements
  • Address performance concerns through coaching and corrective action
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce errors
  • Maintain 5S standards and a clean, organized work environment
  • Ensure proper use of systems for shipment tracking and documentation
