About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a HVACR Technician to join our team in Birmingham, AL. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm (rotating weekends & on call as needed). Job Responsibilities Perform maintenance, diagnose and repair problems, and coordinate with outside contract vendors Assist in the maintenance of building MEP systems in a large medical laboratory Work with various MEP systems including VRF systems, air handlers, cooling towers, chillers, lower pressure boilers, humidifiers, VAV systems, air compressors, pumps, motors, exhaust fans, and refrigeration devices Monitoring the Building Management System on a daily basis alerting management of any discrepancies Perform daily rounds to check process gases, compressed air systems, DI Water Systems, and Lab Waste Systems Read & interpret intrepid shop drawings & control schematics Update excel spread sheets, generate word documents and managing daily emails. Participate in annual safety training and earn required certifications for the position Assist with storm weather preparation and severe weather conditions along with other trades as needed. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • EPA certified Universal technician
  • 3 years or more of HVAC experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Trade school degree in related field
  • BAS and CMMS systems knowledge
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Strong computer and data entry skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Flexibly to travel to other locations within the region
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
