About The Position

Johnson Controls, a leading Building Technology OEM for Healthcare, Manufacturing, Higher Education, K12, and Commercial Real Estate, is seeking skilled HVAC Servicemen to join its growing business. This opportunity involves commissioning, servicing, and maintaining advanced commercial equipment. As a trusted advisor, the Serviceman will consult with customers on comfort, building inefficiency, and other service-related issues. Servicemen will have direct access to Factory Technical Support and will be equipped with necessary safety equipment, uniforms, tools, a cell phone, technical equipment, and a vehicle.

Requirements

  • Adherence to the company Safety Program.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and repair of three phase Commercial HVAC equipment, RTU’s, Heat Pumps and Fans.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be willing to join the UA of Plumbers and Pipefitters.
  • May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify your skills and knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • Five (5) years of Commercial and or industrial work experience in the HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the maintenance and minor repair pumps, VFD’s, Air Handling Units, and Rooftop units.

Responsibilities

  • Commission, service and maintain the most advanced commercial equipment in the world.
  • Consult with customers on comfort, building inefficiency and other service-related issues.
  • Assist Journeymen in the repair and service of centrifugal, absorption, screw and scroll chillers (as needed).
  • Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
  • Recommend solutions to ensure facilities are running efficiently.
  • Identify enhancements that will provide customer systems reliability and sustainability at the time of service.
  • Provide labor and material quotes to support recommendations.
  • Participate in weekend, night, and holiday call out service on a rotating basis.
