About The Position

Performs a variety of routine to skilled general preventative maintenance duties in the repair, alterations and modification of building, equipment and systems.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in related engineering area such as air conditioning and/or refrigeration.
2 – 3 years in HVAC systems including boilers, chillers, pneumatic controls, air handler units or electrical systems.
Driver’s License Required.

Nice To Haves

Journeyman HVAC license highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain routine records and determines type and extent of malfunctions of equipment and, as necessary, adjust, disassemble, repair or replace parts or components then reassembles and tests for proper operation.
Maintains gas fire steam boilers and makes necessary adjustments to ensure proper steam pressure, combustion, water flow, water level and proper operation of safety devices.
Tests boiler water and adds chemicals as necessary.
Performs and completes all preventative maintenance on heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, radiators, thermostats, dampers, and regulating controls. Replaces filters and fluids as necessary, and completes all routine records of repairs and materials.
Maintains all gases to facility such as oxygen, nitrogen and vacuum systems needed for daily operation of the hospital.
Perform other duties as assigned.
