About The Position

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems throughout the airport's facilities. This role involves conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and performing both routine and emergency repairs to ensure optimal system performance and passenger comfort. You will work in compliance with safety regulations and standards, and also provide guidance on energy efficiency and system upgrades when necessary. Additionally, you will maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and collaborate with other maintenance teams for comprehensive facility management.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • 2 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to HVAC systems
  • Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile Devices
  • Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic means
  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
  • Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems throughout airport facilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with heating, cooling, and ventilation systems
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance to ensure efficient operation of HVAC equipment
  • Respond to service requests and emergency repair needs in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repair, and inspection activities
  • Comply with all safety and environmental regulations in HVAC operations
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to coordinate large-scale repair projects
  • Provide technical support and advice on HVAC matters to other airport departments
  • Manage inventory of HVAC parts, tools, and supplies
  • Keep abreast of advancements in HVAC technology and techniques
  • Train and mentor technicians and assistants in HVAC maintenance skills
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical manuals related to HVAC systems
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized HVAC services
  • Assist in energy management and sustainability initiatives related to HVAC systems
  • Participate in safety training and maintain a safe work environment
  • Exemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management
