Metro Building Services is looking for a highly qualified HVAC (Refrigeration) Supervisor to join their growing Hammond, LA Service Team! Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in servicing, diagnosing, and repairing complex HVAC equipment in a commercial/industrial setting (Chillers, VRV’s, Controls, Refrigeration, etc.).
  • Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • OSHA 10 Certification.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Clean and valid driving license and record required.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of HVAC and refrigeration technicians in the diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial and industrial systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, air handlers, VRF systems, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Oversee daily operations, including scheduling service calls, assigning work, monitoring job progress, and ensuring timely completion of projects to meet customer expectations and company standards.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs, routine inspections, and quality control processes to optimize system performance, reduce downtime, and extend equipment life.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, including motors, compressors, fans, controls, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Review and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and project specifications; assist in planning modifications, system upgrades, and coordination with contractors or vendors when needed.
  • Ensure team compliance with safety regulations, EPA guidelines, refrigerant handling protocols, and company policies; conduct training on best practices, new technologies, and safety procedures.
  • Monitor team performance, provide coaching and performance feedback, participate in hiring and onboarding, and foster a collaborative, customer-focused team environment.
  • Stay current with industry advancements in HVAC, refrigeration technologies, controls, and service techniques; recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
