The HVAC SUB-AMP Manager is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance and troubleshooting of industrial HVAC equipment such as boilers, chillers, and light commercial units. This job requires knowledge of air conditioning and the production of chilled water, as well as practical mechanical and electrical understanding. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Coordinates and performs inspections on HVAC systems and components (e.g., heating units, building exhaust fans, ventilation units, etc.) to evaluate condition, identify necessary repairs, and recommend preventive maintenance. Perform installations of HVAC equipment and systems and monitors repairs on systems and/or components (e.g., pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.). Coordinates with HVAC Lead and/or Trade Shop Supervisor on completing projects and work orders efficiently. Diagnose cause of problems and/or failures in HVAC systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs. Perform and oversee basic inspections of chiller system and ensure chiller testing is completed according to standard procedures. Review test results and identify any issues or needed repairs. Tracks performance of routine and preventive maintenance to ensure the availability of HVAC systems. Prepares written reports (work order status, activity logs, etc.) for documenting activities and/or conveying information. Requests equipment and supplies to maintain correct inventory amounts and ensure availability of items required to complete installations and/or repairs. Responds to emergency situations during or after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns. Performs other duties as requested.
