About The Position

MSD is looking for an HVAC Startup Technician to join our team! We are seeking a skilled, client-focused HVAC Startup Technician to support the installation, startup, and service of commercial and industrial HVAC systems. This hands-on role involves assessing client needs on-site, performing installations and repairs, and ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and to specification while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will work closely with internal teams and clients, support quality control and documentation, uphold strong safety standards, and help mentor newer technicians in a fast-paced, physically demanding field environment. The HVAC Startup Technician is responsible for installing, starting up, and servicing commercial and industrial HVAC systems while ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operation. This role combines hands-on technical work with strong client communication, quality control, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced field environment.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ (post-training) experience in Commercial/Industrial HVAC
  • Universal EPA license required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to comprehend complex technical manuals and apply the information therein
  • Able to clearly communicate in written and verbal English
  • Proven familiarity with office productivity software such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Thorough understanding of HVAC principles and practices
  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident Status Required
  • Valid, unencumbered US Driver’s License

Responsibilities

  • Assess client needs on-site and communicate system status, options, and recommendations
  • Install, start up, repair, and service commercial and industrial HVAC equipment
  • Perform complex installations and troubleshooting with a focus on quality and safety
  • Complete accurate job documentation, labor reports, and required paperwork
  • Coordinate schedules with supervisors and collaborate with internal teams
  • Conduct quality control inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Train and support new technicians while maintaining technical certifications and skills
