HVAC Startup Technician

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial HVAC service experience or completion of a recognized HVAC apprenticeship.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and refrigeration fundamentals.
• Ability to diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant system issues without supervision.
• Strong communication skills and professional customer interaction.
• Valid EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, rooftops, and in mechanical rooms.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in mission-critical environments preferred (data centers, telecom facilities, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Inspecting installation quality to ensure compliance with factory equipment recommendations
• Activating and monitoring new equipment, such as rooftop units, pumps, air handlers, chillers, etc.
• Performing functional tests and resolving equipment operational issues
• Filling out startup reports and ensuring all data is documented for quality control
• Working with air/water balancing contractors and providing training to building operators
• Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding service findings and next steps, while adhering to all company safety policies
