About The Position

This role is responsible for commissioning and testing newly installed HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with specifications. This position shall incorporate the Fidelity Mechanical Services’ Vision and Business Strategy by providing “Proactive World Class Service” to the markets served, based on Profitability, Credibility, Employee Base Environment, Customer Service and Quality.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handlers, VAVs, and pumps
  • Understanding of start-up and commissioning procedures for commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring, control systems, duct detectors, and refrigerant charging processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical and control system issues.
  • Proficiency with tools, testing instruments, and software used in HVAC commissioning.
  • Clear communication skills for interacting with project managers, contractors, and clients.
  • Organizational skills to document work accurately and manage multiple project timelines.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across trades and disciplines.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company and industry safety protocols.
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Journeyman's License (preferred)
  • 4 or more years of experience with commercial HVAC startup, maintenance, and equipment repair
  • Computer literate, detail-oriented, and excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycle, electrical and control wiring schematics
  • Proficient with self-contained water-cooled HVAC units, data center type cooling equipment, VAVs, cooling towers, pumps, and VRV/VRF cooling systems

Responsibilities

  • Perform start-up and commissioning tasks and support project close-out requirements.
  • Install controls and wiring, duct detectors, align pumps, and evacuate/fill refrigerant systems and other system devices as needed.
  • Start up, observe, and troubleshoot the operation of HVAC equipment and systems.
  • Complete equipment information and start-up documentation in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Field Supervisors, and Clients.
  • Collaborate with project team members to ensure a high-quality installation and allocate appropriate manpower during start-up and commissioning phases.
  • Oversee installation quality control by consulting with Mechanical Construction installers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
