About The Position

HVAC Service & Sales Technician – Asheville, NC Who Are We? We are a residential plumbing company based in Asheville, NC, with a strong reputation for honest, responsive service. We take care of our customers and our team - and we're growing. In 2026, we are expanding into HVAC services and opening a second location in Travelers Rest, SC. This is a ground-floor opportunity. We're not hiring a technician to plug into an existing department. We're hiring the person who will build and eventually lead our HVAC division. If you're an experienced Technician who is tired of working for a large company where you're just a number, and you want to be part of building something, this is your opportunity! The Role: You’ll first start hands‑on: running residential HVAC service calls, diagnosing systems, performing installs and maintenance, and selling repairs, replacements, and maintenance agreements. As the HVAC division grows, your role transitions into a leadership role: hiring techs, overseeing operations, driving revenue, and shaping strategy. The pace of that transition depends on growth, and growth depends heavily on you.

Requirements

  • Active NC HVAC Contractor license (or ability to obtain quickly)
  • 3+ years residential HVAC service experience
  • Proven sales performance (repairs, replacements, maintenance agreements)
  • Active EPA 608 Universal certification (or willing/able to obtain it in a short timeframe)
  • Valid driver’s license, clean record, background check

Nice To Haves

  • Residential service experience
  • Familiarity with flat-rate pricing and service software
  • Ability to run calls independently
  • Interest in stepping into management

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heat pumps, gas furnaces, central AC, and mini‑splits
  • Perform installs, replacements, and seasonal tune‑ups
  • Ensure work meets NC mechanical code
  • Maintain clean, professional job sites and vehicles
  • Present repair vs. replacement options clearly and honestly
  • Sell maintenance agreements and follow up on open estimates
  • Educate customers and represent the company professionally
  • Help build HVAC processes, pricing, and workflows
  • Provide input on equipment brands and suppliers
  • Track job costs and help establish profitability benchmarks
  • Hire and train HVAC technicians
  • Oversee scheduling, quality, and customer satisfaction
  • Drive revenue goals and maintenance agreement growth
  • Collaborate on pricing and division strategy
