About The Position
Global Placement Firm is partnering with a leading commercial service company in Des Moines, IA , to identify an experienced and motivated HVAC/R Technician with strong commercial refrigeration expertise. As an HVAC/R Technician , you will: Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems , including walk-in coolers, freezers, and ice machines. Troubleshoot and service HVAC systems and, when applicable, commercial kitchen hotside equipment (fryers, ovens, steamers, etc.). Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards. Maintain clear and accurate service records and communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams. Represent both the client company and Global Placement Firm with professionalism, integrity, and customer service excellence.
Requirements
- 2+ years of commercial refrigeration experience (required).
- EPA Certification (Type I & II or Universal).
- Experience with HVAC/R systems
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical work in a field service environment.
Nice To Haves
- commercial kitchen hotside experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on repair, installation, and maintenance of refrigeration and HVAC/R equipment.
- Conduct diagnostics and identify component-level issues.
- Follow all safety procedures, local regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and job documentation to professional standards.
- Collaborate with supervisors, facility managers, and team members to ensure timely and effective service.
