Fortis Institute in Towson is seeking an experienced, highly motivated Program Director for the HVAC/R program. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic leader to manage the HVAC/R program. This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean/Director of Education. As the leader of the program, the Program Director is responsible for managing the department using sound business principles and ensuring compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and company policies and procedures. This position requires some evening and Saturday hours. The Program Director teaches in his/her assigned discipline, works with faculty to promote continuous improvement of the quality of instruction within the assigned program(s), is the lead administrator for the department, and, as such, is responsible for faculty training and development, coordinating and administering the academic program(s) and student outcomes and activities within the department.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited HVAC/R program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma is required; an associate degree in HVAC/R or a related field is required
  • Expertise in interpersonal and verbal presentation/written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide effective direction and leadership, and work effectively and collaboratively with others.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC/R Technician
  • Prior higher education/postsecondary related teaching experience of at least 2 years is required
  • Certifications: HVAC/R, EPA Universal
