HVAC Preconstruction Project Manager

Brian Cox Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC preconstruction project manager with a minimum of 5 years industry-specific experience in estimating/project management. We are looking for someone who is extremely knowledgeable, reliable, detailed, and a good communicator both internal to the company and externally with customers and vendors.
Requirements
- In-office work position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Proficiency with on-screen takeoff software.
- Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Chilled water systems
- VRF (air-cooled and water-cooled)
- Water source heat pump systems
- VAV systems
- Knowledge of controls systems
- Specialty systems (dry rooms, labs, clean rooms, etc.)
- 5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, project management, or mechanical contracting.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and engineering documents.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong client and subcontractor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with estimators & project managers to define project scope and deliverables.
- Review plans, specifications, and Basis of Design (BOD) criteria to ensure the budgets turned over to the construction are complete and compliant with plans & specs (catch anything that might have been missed in estimate).
- Review vendor equipment and subcontractor bids for scope completeness and accuracy.
- Evaluate project estimates and convert to detailed material and labor project budgets.
- Support construction teams by preparing accurate labor projections and resource plans.
- Conduct material and equipment take-offs with high accuracy.
- Facilitate a smooth transition from estimating to construction.
- Maintain strong communication with vendors, subcontractors, and internal purchasing teams.
