Brian Cox Mechanical is seeking an experienced HVAC preconstruction project manager with a minimum of 5 years industry-specific experience in estimating/project management. We are looking for someone who is extremely knowledgeable, reliable, detailed, and a good communicator both internal to the company and externally with customers and vendors.

Requirements

  • In-office work position.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency with on-screen takeoff software.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Chilled water systems
  • VRF (air-cooled and water-cooled)
  • Water source heat pump systems
  • VAV systems
  • Knowledge of controls systems
  • Specialty systems (dry rooms, labs, clean rooms, etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • 5 years of experience in HVAC estimating, project management, or mechanical contracting.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical plans, specifications, and engineering documents.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong client and subcontractor relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with estimators & project managers to define project scope and deliverables.
  • Review plans, specifications, and Basis of Design (BOD) criteria to ensure the budgets turned over to the construction are complete and compliant with plans & specs (catch anything that might have been missed in estimate).
  • Review vendor equipment and subcontractor bids for scope completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluate project estimates and convert to detailed material and labor project budgets.
  • Support construction teams by preparing accurate labor projections and resource plans.
  • Conduct material and equipment take-offs with high accuracy.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition from estimating to construction.
  • Maintain strong communication with vendors, subcontractors, and internal purchasing teams.
