About The Position

Staff Accountant Company: Hartwig Mechanical Location: Mokena, IL (in person M-F 7am-4pm Fridays off at 2:30pm) Type : Full time permanent employment. Pay: up to $70K per hour (DOE) Key Responsibilities Complete Journal entries, Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Support job cost tracking and project-based accounting Assist with payroll review and related reconciliations Monitor cash flow and support treasury functions Prepare sales tax filings and assist with compliance reporting Support external audits and provide documentation as requested Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Associates degree finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience (construction or mechanical industry experience preferred) Strong understanding of GAAP Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Previous experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks. Previous AR / AP Payroll experience. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with job cost accounting Familiarity with construction accounting software (QuickBooks, Viewpoint Spectrum, or similar ERP systems) willing to train the right candidate. Requirements

  • Associates degree finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience (construction or mechanical industry experience preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience in accounting software such as QuickBooks
  • Previous AR / AP Payroll experience
