Position Summary In your role as a Facilities HVAC Engineer, you'll work to support Samsung Taylor Facilities Operations Group. The HVAC Engineering team oversees central utilities essential to the operation of our semiconductor wafer FAB's and external customers. You'll work to oversee chilled water systems, cooling towers, process cooling systems, steam and hot water systems, exhaust fans, scrubbers, thermal oxidizers and process vacuum. Facilities systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption. You'll also have opportunities for mentorship, innovative technology development, conferences, trainings, technical presentations (internal and external) and other learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in facilities, mechanical systems, or HVAC & MEP design and construction.
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE and State of Texas codes and standards.
  • Data analysis experience that demonstrates strong analytical skills and aptitude.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and systems including pumps, pneumatics, flow meters, air handling systems, industrial chilled water, heating (steam), process piping, rotating equipment, vibration analysis, heat transfer and thermodynamics.
  • Microsoft Excel, Project, Word high level proficiency.
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license, EIT, CEM, PMP certifications a plus.
  • AutoCAD and Pipe Flow knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and communication to support the needs of operations, instrumentation, maintenance, and external resources to ensure operational sustainability of facilities and equipment.
  • Reviews and analyzes process and equipment data to ensure they are running within specifications.
  • Successfully interfaces with internal customer organizations to sustain uninterrupted operations.
  • Improves equipment reliability through FMEA, root cause analysis, and 8D problem solving.
  • Support the development and improvement of operations and maintenance procedures/ programs to ensure use of best practices.
  • Incorporates best practices into site specifications, standards, and standard operating procedures.
  • Forecasts costs and expenditures for operation and maintenance assigned systems.
  • Develops cost reduction projects that reduced operating and maintenance expenses of those systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers to facilitate career development and technical expertise.
