About The Position

Ultium Cells Overview: Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant will have the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology.  Ultium Cells’ partners include LG Energy Solution, Ltd.; the world’s largest manufacturer of automotive battery cells, and General Motors; a global company committed to delivering safer, better and more sustainable ways for people to get around. This is an onsite position.

Requirements

  • Chill water plant experience (hydronic systems)
  • Boiler experience
  • Commercial or Industrial HVAC ventilation systems with positive and negative pressure controls
  • Scrap and dust collectors
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Siemens BAS experience
  • Experience with HVAC controls & interlocks
  • Proven leader
  • Working with outside vendors for resourcing needs
  • Knowledge of smoke purge evac fire protection systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and AutoCAD
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and safety regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 plus years’ experience maintaining clean room systems is preferred.
  • 3 plus years working in one or more of the following service areas: Chemicals, Battery, Pharmaceutical, and Manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience with air quality and humidity controls
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Knowledgeable in mechanical codes fire codes, and NFPA standards
  • Understanding environmental permitting and air pollutant controls
  • Experience in plumbing design and fire protection systems a plus
  • LEED, ASHRAE, or energy recovery system experience

Responsibilities

  • Collects and prepares data/information and perform detailed engineering calculations for HVAC system equipment, and dust and fume collection systems
  • Flexibility for intermittent support to plant operations as business needs arise
  • Availability to support 24/7 plant offsite
  • Design, optimize, and maintain HVAC systems that support critical production environments, and cleanrooms
  • Utilizes computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
  • Utilizing Building Automation System for troubleshooting and to issue work orders for problem solving
  • Manage and troubleshoot air handling units (AHUs), chillers, dehumidifiers, heat exchangers, and ducting systems.
  • Assists in field work by coordinating system operations, checking installations, problem solving, and maintenance and repair
  • Maintains effective communication with project team members, other departments, suppliers and clients
  • Responsible for making sure all building systems meet the required clean room specifications with local and state requirements
  • Aid facilities maintenance and engineering team as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation including P&IDs, airflow diagrams, commissioning reports, and maintenance logs
