About The Position

Aero Mechanical, Inc. one of the leading HVAC/pipefitting/plumbing contractors in the area has an exciting opportunity for in our Johnston, RI office as a driver. In addition to delivering HVAC supplies to our job sites, you will be responsible for keeping our shop organized, planning and moving materials and supplies to our construction jobs, assisting in building maintenance and inventory control, placing orders for supplies and filling in as needed for other tasks. CDL driver license not required. We seek a team player with proven ability to effectively and efficiently perform in a similar role.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant driver experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to do the job.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required with current or ability to obtain DOT medical card.
  • Ability to drive safely with safe driving record.
  • Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.
  • Ability to plan delivery driver routes.
  • Ability to maintain basic logs and records.
  • Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.
  • Able to remain professional and courteous at all times.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without needing current or future sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and a background check.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly, 75 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to load and unload materials and supplies with and without dollies in various types of weather.
  • Must be able to work at roof top heights, using a ladder.
  • Must be able to work outside in the elements.

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC or construction industry experience is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency and MS excel experience a plus..

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of driver duties in the safe delivery of construction materials to job sites, including the loading and unloading of supplies.
  • Plans driver route to insure most economical and efficient use of time and equipment.
  • Picks up items along the scheduled route.
  • Assists in general warehouse and building management duties when delivery route is completed, including leaf and debris removal, light landscaping and snow removal (i.e. shoveling and plowing). Some work done on roof top.
  • Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
