Work Schedule: Hours vary and may include day, evening and weekend responsibilities. Courses are taught in a classroom setting and may include a lab component. Rate of Pay: Per Contact Hour 2025: Less than Master's = $1069; Master's or above = $1109 FLSA Status: Exempt Grant Funded: No Job Summary: Adjunct teaching faculty provide instruction aligned with the college's strategic goals and evaluate students' progress to facilitate achievement of their educational goals.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in a related field with 4,000 hours of documented work experience OR, Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2,000 hours of documented work experience
- Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience in a technical field
- Strong communication skills
Nice To Haves
- 5 years’ experience in building maintenance
- High Pressure Stationary Engineer’s License
- ESCO Excellence Certified
- Refrigeration experience
Responsibilities
- Conduct assigned classes and/or labs
- Prepare lessons
- Provide course syllabus (which shall include grading standards, attendance policies, classroom behavioral expectations, course outline and contact information)
- Verify student enrollment and submit grade sheets
- Prepare labs
- Enforce lab safety procedures
- Keep accurate record of student performance
- Provide students with timely feedback
- Maintain office hours and voice-mail/e-mail communication
- Refer students to student support services
- Accommodate special needs students
- Provide classroom instruction with related lab in the following residential/commercial hvac areas: Electrical, heating, air conditioning, load calculations, blueprint reading, tools and equipment related to subject, and safety.
