About The Position

The Department of Psychology & Communication seeks to establish a pool of qualified applicants for future, part-time Adjunct Faculty appointments in Psychology. Successful applicants may teach up to six (6) semester credit hours within the required discipline as dictated by student demand, hold office hours, and assist students as needed. Other information: Any job duties noted in this announcement may not constitute all the related job duties that may be required to be performed. Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis, in accordance with history of teaching effectiveness and timeliness. These temporary appointments are for the Fall 2026 semester and/or any applicable Fall 2026 sub-terms and beyond. Those applicants planning to primarily teach online courses must have reliable access to high-speed internet, camera, and microphone, and any other necessary equipment as repeated technological difficulties could impact instructional effectiveness. Out-of-state applicants may be required to complete additional hiring requirements as required by University policy or State law. Initial review of applications will begin on March 1st, 2026. Interviews will be scheduled subsequently. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology.
  • Ability to teach subject matter effectively and in alignment with program learning outcomes (PLOs) and student learning outcomes (SLOs)
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with the public.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in an academic environment.
  • Ability to promptly meet semester timelines (e.g., completing University training courses, submission of syllabi, posting of grades).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Nice To Haves

  • An earned doctorate in Psychology.
  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • Prior relevant professional experience.
