This role offers a unique opportunity to provide vital legal and victim support services, ensuring that victims of human trafficking and other crimes receive the care, resources, and advocacy they need. As the Human Trafficking Victim Service Coordinator/Legal Assistant, you will work closely with our Human Trafficking Resource Prosecutor and other partners to assist victims and support the prosecution of these critical cases, helping to restore hope and stability for those most in need. As a Victim Service Coordinator/Legal Assistant, your contributions will include: Support and Advocacy for Victims: Work closely with victims and witnesses to help them understand and navigate the court process. Assist victims in accessing critical resources such as counseling, housing, immigration assistance, medical care, and employment support. Provide emotional support and ensure victims feel empowered and prepared for court appearances. Legal Support for the Human Trafficking Resource Prosecutor: Draft correspondence and prepare legal documents with precision and attention to detail. Organize case files, gather essential information, and provide research to assist in prosecutions. Manage schedules and ensure smooth coordination for court appearances and victim services. Program and Training Engagement: Participate in specialized training to deepen your expertise in human trafficking cases and victim advocacy. Support training programs, victim assistance initiatives, and deployments. Travel as needed to provide on-site assistance and represent the program.
