About The Position

Independent work applying well developed technical human resources knowledge to perform a variety of technical and administrative duties in support of multi-faceted programs in Human Resources.

Requirements

  • An associate degree from an accredited college or university in business administration or management or related field and two years progressively responsible human resources or related experience.
  • Handle sensitive issues diplomatically

  • Valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
  • Must be a notary public in the state of Florida or the ability to obtain within six months of employment at District expense.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and files all personnel actions forms; processes address/name change requests and enters into appropriate databases (i.e. Teams Task Items, ADP); prepares exit letters and checkout lists for employees upon notice of termination. Inputs information into ADP; routes approval request memo for employees requesting outside employment and prepares notification to staff and division, inputs into ADP; processes employee name change requests.
  • Onboarding of new hires; processes new employee hire packets; coordinates onboarding with supervisors and service center staff if necessary; meets with new employee on first day; reviews new employee paperwork to ensure that all required forms are received; verifies employment authorization using E-Verify and adheres to federal timeframes; Completes employee badge process for new employees, interns, and contractors, including reissuing badges.
  • Prepares employee service, retirement, and special recognition award information for monthly Governing Board agenda, requests information from supervisors for presentation and narratives; prepares and organizes materials for electronic agenda and items for monthly Governing Board meetings.
  • Responds to employment verification requests and prepares employment verification letters; responds to public records requests and audits for record gathering; maintains manual and electronic databases and records; provides assistance and information to all District staff in an efficient and professional manner; processes staff forms; maintains up-to-date procedures manual for this position.
  • Posts ads for vacant positions; coordinates with vendors in the advertising of vacant positions; research ad opportunities and university contacts; maintains ad source and university department contacts' spreadsheet.
