About The Position

San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS), a San Antonio, Texas based company, has been in business for nearly 50 years and has developed a reputation as a premier American manufacturer of high quality comfort footwear. Interpret and explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations. Conduct exit interviews, analyze data and make recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement. Respond to employee relation issues such as employee complaints and investigations. Represent the company for any unemployment claims. Facilitate and conduct training, including new hire orientation. Maintain proper records of employee attendance and assist with payroll duties to ensure data integrity and compliance. Process check requests, deposits, loan request forms, and cash advance forms. Interview and screen job applicants to fill job openings. Coach, counsel and guide managers before executing employee disciplinary actions. Prepare or maintain employment records such as hiring, termination, leaves, transfers, or promotions, using human resources management system software. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Complete understanding of MS Office suite
  • Good organizational skills with the desire to take initiative.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Positive attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Complete understanding of HRIS.
  • Ability to professionally interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to efficiently work in a time-driven environment
  • Ability to securely handle employee records.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field or the equivalent years of experience preferred.
  • At least 3 years of proven experience as an entry-level HR recruiter.
  • At least 2 years of experience as an HR Specialist or a junior role.
  • Bilingual in Spanish required.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for 8 – 10 hours.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
  • ADP Workforce Now experience preferred.
