About the Internship The Johnson Outdoors Summer Internship Program is a paid, hands‑on experience for college students and recent graduates who want real exposure to Human Resources in a global organization. 📍 Location: Racine, WI (right on Lake Michigan) 🕒 Schedule: ~40 hours/week 📅 Timing: May or June 2026 through August 2026 💼 Status: Temporary internship (not benefits‑eligible) Interns are treated as true contributors, not observers. You’ll collaborate with the HR team on real projects that support our people, culture, and business priorities — gaining experience that directly translates to future HR roles. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, communication, problem‑solving, and making systems easier for others to use.

Requirements

  • Current college student or recent graduate studying Human Resources or Business Management
  • Strong written communication skills with a focus on clarity and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without employment‑based sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Help rebuild and update performance development job aids to align with recent UKG system enhancements
  • Assist with drafting, reviewing, and organizing employee benefits communications, including Open Enrollment materials and newsletters
  • Support recruiting and onboarding activities, including interview coordination, onboarding checklist updates, and first‑day logistics
  • Assist with new hire meet‑and‑greet coordination and first‑day experiences that welcome employees to Johnson Outdoors
  • Support organization and maintenance of digital HR files and documentation
  • Provide ad‑hoc project and operational support to HR team members throughout the summer
