About The Position

Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Vera’s mission is to advance treatments that target the source of immunologic diseases in order to change the standard of care for patients. Vera’s lead product candidate is atacicept, a fusion protein self-administered at home as a subcutaneous once weekly injection that blocks both B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and A Proliferation Inducing Ligand (APRIL), which stimulate B cells to produce autoantibodies contributing to certain autoimmune diseases, including IgA nephropathy. Vera is also evaluating the role of atacicept in other immunologic disorders. Additionally, Vera is developing VT-109, a novel, next-generation dual BAFF/APRIL inhibitor in preclinical development, and MAU868, a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize infection with BK virus, a polyomavirus that can have devastating consequences in certain settings such as kidney transplant. Position Summary: The Human Resources Specialist will report to the VP, Total Rewards & Operations and will be responsible for supporting full employee lifecycle processes to ensure an exceptional candidate and employee experience for G&A, CMC, Regulatory and Quality functions. Working closely with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and key stakeholders across the organization, this role will coordinate interviews, manage candidate communications, lead onboarding and offboarding, respond to employee inquiries, and contribute to process improvement initiatives. This role will support operationalizing Vera’s learning and development programs, the design and execution of our in person weeks and provide general administrative support to the HR function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in HR Operations or HR support.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering a positive candidate experience.
  • Microsoft Office experience including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ATS systems (e.g., Greenhouse, JobScore, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate interviews while ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
  • Partner with recruiters, hiring managers, and interviewers to ensure timely communication and feedback.
  • Maintain data integrity of applicant tracking system (ATS) and HRIS.
  • Draft and post job descriptions on external job boards and career platforms.
  • Manage candidate correspondence including invitations, confirmations, follow-up communication and offer letters.
  • Manage employee onboarding activities including background checks, I-9’s, employee CV and job description maintenance, and employee sign off on HR policies.
  • Respond to employee inquiries submitted to the HR mailbox in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Process new hire data from Greenhouse ATS into ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Generate reports from ATS and HRIS to support data needs of the HR team and business.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee personnel files.
  • Distribute and review new hire and exit surveys to capture employee feedback and inform HR initiatives.
  • Manage employee data changes in ADP, including compensation adjustments, role transfers, and reporting structure updates.
  • Support leadership development programs by coordinating schedules, tracking action items, and assisting with program logistics.
  • Assist with both virtual and in-person meeting execution by coordinating rooms, materials, catering, and technology needs.
  • Support the design, development, and refinement of learning and development program materials, presentations, and communications to ensure clarity, engagement, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Monitor department OKR timelines and manage shared documentation to ensure milestones are tracked, progress is visible, and deadlines are consistently met.
  • Partner with the HR leadership team to develop, analyze, and prepare the annual department budget, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and financial objectives.
  • Provide general administrative support to HR leadership team including calendar management and expense reporting.
  • Manage department contracts and purchase orders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely submission of invoices for processing and payment.
