About The Position

Responsible for the recruitment efforts of Port Madison Enterprises, in coordination with the department management team. Actively promotes Tribal Preference.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong supervisory, problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
  • Ability to work with a variety of people
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Minimum two (2) years personnel supervisory or management experience desired

Nice To Haves

  • BS or BA degree in personnel, business administration or public administration desired.
  • A combination of years of recruiting experience (3 or more) and supervisory training may be substituted for degree preference.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates recruitment process of all open positions
  • Identifies creative avenues for attracting tribal candidates and all other qualified applicants and assists HR management with personnel matters involving Suquamish Tribal Members
  • Works with HR Director and In-House Trainer to develop game plans for eligible, but unemployed tribal members
  • Responsible for internal job postings and all external classified advertisements
  • Responsible for overseeing the intake process and the HR Coordinator(s) in conjunction with the HR management
  • Tracks the hiring trends in accordance with tribal preference
  • Works in conjunction with In-House Trainer to insure correct interviewing techniques are followed and assists in the development of position-based interview questions/criteria
  • Runs application reports per the established schedule
  • Maintains the hiring process report weekly to communicate candidate progress with managers
  • Assists in training supervisors and managers during hiring process training sessions
  • Responsible to oversee timely communication to ineligible candidates and internal applicants
  • Works with the In-House Trainer to have Certified Trainers available when new hires complete the hiring process
  • Works with Tribal Gaming Licensing as the casino’s liaison for licensing/badging procedures/requirements
  • Assists in forecasting staffing needs as necessary
  • Assists in developing and maintaining job descriptions
  • Completes employment verifications (pre-hire)
  • Trains HR Coordinator(s) in duties associated with recruitment and maintaining staffing levels
  • Assists in the coordination of employment job fairs as needed
  • Consistently identifies mechanisms and processes to streamline hiring process
  • Greets new hires during orientation and explains Tribal Liaison aspect of position
  • Supports Human Resources staff as necessary
  • Other duties as deemed necessary
