About The Position

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER ELK GROVE VILLAGE, IL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Execute talent actions as it relates to organizational design, workforce planning, retention, and succession planning through partnership with leaders in the assigned operational and/or functional groups. Support leaders/employees with questions and simple to moderately complex employee relations situations. Conduct confidential investigations into employee concerns.  Focus on proactively maintaining positive employee relations. Manage the on-boarding and off-boarding processes. Administer the performance management processes. Provide ongoing guidance to leaders (e.g., coaching, talent development, disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans, etc.). May support the administration of the annual wage/salary review and bonus processes. Drive the company culture through positive interactions with employees and leaders. Plan and execute employee engagement activities and events to maintain a people-focused company culture. Develop and administer employee recognition programs. Support leaders in developing the skill development of their team. Administer training programs including initiating annual compliance training, facilitating orientation trainings, and supporting other trainings as required. Maintain records of training completion. Process weekly payroll, including review of hours, data entry of special pay or deductions, and transmission to the payroll processing company. Manage child support, garnishments, and employee information changes. Administer the company’s group benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, 401(k), etc. Leads the planning and execution of the annual Open Enrollment process including monitoring of existing programs, updating the HCM system, and communicating plans to employees. Provide high-level customer service to employees by providing education opportunities, addressing complex benefits inquiries, and resolving claims issues. May manage relationships with assigned insurance brokers and plan administrators. Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and Company policies. Maintain employee files and employee information in Company systems for accurate and complete employee and position records. Update policies periodically to include changes in legal and/or business requirements. Support required audits and regulatory filings as assigned (e.g. ACA, EEO, Form 5500s, etc.). Participate in the implementation of change management plans, continuous improvement projects and exercise influence over various partners within the Company. Lead the implementation of people-related processes, policies, and programs through clear and proactive communicate. Manage the full cycle recruitment process for assigned employee groups including posting open jobs, direct sourcing of candidates, interviewing/evaluating candidate, and supporting hiring leaders and candidates while providing exceptional candidate experience. Acts in a leadership capacity at the assigned location and provides coaching to others. May supervise Human Resources Assistant(s) or Human Resources Generalist(s) which includes responsibility for identifying talent, coaching, developing, motivating, and managing the performance of assigned direct report(s). Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5+ years of related work experience, or high school diploma equivalent and 10+ years of related work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization (e.g. entry level to executives).
  • Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of HRIS systems (Paycor experience is a plus) and Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.)
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization (shop floor employees to executives)
  • Working knowledge of local, state, federal labor laws and familiarity with OSHA safety regulations.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent problem solving, decision making, attention to detail, and project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or related field, strongly preferred.
  • Related work experience in the manufacturing industry, highly preferred.
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other relevant HR certification
  • Strong business acumen
  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish, strongly preferred
