About The Position

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for delivering HR solutions that enable a high-performing workforce within a fast-paced retail distribution network. This role oversees the following core HR functions: talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, training, and compliance while ensuring alignment with business objectives. By managing the employee life cycle, optimizing processes, and fostering employee engagement, the HR Manager helps build a resilient, agile team capable of meeting the demands of a dynamic, high-volume distribution environment. The ideal candidate will be an expert TA professional responsible for attracting top talent, optimizing best in class HR processes, and ensuring employees have the tools, clarity, and support they need throughout their employment lifecycle. This position requires strong communication skills, a solution-oriented mindset, and the ability to build trust at all levels of the organization.

  • Human Resource Management. An experienced leader and innovative professional with appropriate human resources experience. Focused on supporting the business to ensure optimal growth and reducing non-value added work.

  • Business acumen. Must have a working knowledge of US federal and state laws for all states; including FMLA, ACA, ADA, HIPAA, FLSA, ERISA, etc. In addition, a working knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial laws, specifically the Ontario ESA is desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum (5) five years of Human Resources experience
  • Minimum four (4) years related experience in the ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments. Able to foster a cooperative work environment, to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects.
  • Must be able to bring immediate credibility to the Human Resources function through his/her professional qualifications and leadership skills as well as project the highest levels of integrity. Interpersonal communication and presentation skills as well as proven organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Talent Acquisition: Lead recruitment efforts for roles in Canada and the U.S. by evaluating current processes and implementing best in class actions. The TA role owns full cycle recruiting: partnering with hiring managers, intake meetings, job postings, sourcing, interviewing, offer management and post hire activities.
  • HRIS Management: Manage recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and learning modules within the HRIS system to streamline processes across multiple distribution sites globally.
  • Onboarding & Employee Experience: Own the end-to-end onboarding process to ensure a positive and engaging new hire experience. Coordinate orientation and transitions with relevant departments. Continuously evaluate and improve onboarding touchpoints to increase retention.
  • Performance Management: Own, administer, and drive the performance management process within the HRIS system, ensuring alignment with operational goals and productivity metrics.
  • Projects: Manage and accomplish all generalist tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
  • Compensation: Conduct compensation studies using selected platform tools and provide support for salary adjustments and promotions, ensuring competitiveness within the retail and distribution industry and making recommendations.
  • Training & Development: Develop and oversee training programs focused on compliance, leadership development, and operational excellence for distribution and retail support teams.
