About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY Jack Link's is looking for a seasoned Human Resources Manager responsible for the daily operations of the human resources department — and this is a true working manager role. Someone who is equally comfortable developing strategy as they are rolling up their sleeves on the plant floor, this leader will not only shape the people and cultural framework but will personally drive execution alongside their team. Partnering with leadership to attract, recruit, and retain the best talent, we are looking for an innovative self-starter who takes ownership from start to finish — identifying the need, building the solution, and implementing it with precision and urgency. This role carries responsibility for managing workplace culture and environment through high-performing programs within compensation, performance management, organizational development, benefits, and team member engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a four-year college in Human Resources Management or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience in Manufacturing high-volume production environment or 5+ years experience leading direct reports with demonstrated ability to develop and mentor HR team members
  • Experience supporting a workforce of 200+ employees across multiple shifts
  • Proven track record of partnering with senior operations and plant leadership to drive business outcomes
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EEO, FMLA, ADA,FLSA and other applicable federal and state employment laws
  • Working knowledge of HRIS systems (UKG, SmartRecruiters, SAP, Cornerstone, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must work effectively with all levels of management and team members.
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership, problem solving, presentation, and motivational skills.
  • Proficient in Internet navigation, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must be willing to work outside normal business hours including occasional nights and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certifications(s) preferred
  • Experience leading or supporting HR through organizational change, facility expansions or start-up
  • Strong floor presence with the ability to connect with hourly production employees and build trust at all levels

Responsibilities

  • Partners with Site Leader and Talent Acquisition Team to lead full cycle recruiting for facility.
  • Provides guidance to supervisors on issues of team member performance, development or discipline.
  • Partner with cross-functional leadership team in the development and management of -run or manage a “greenfield” facility
  • Ensure engagement of all team members that are aligned with Jack Links Values and Competencies.
  • Establish and maintain positive team member and community relations
  • Build a positive culture that helps attain and maintain operational excellence through people by enhancing management practices, sponsoring team member events and fostering open communications.
  • Lead and facilitate team member engagement initiatives.
  • Resolve complex, moderate-risk employee relations issues including investigations, and serve as escalation point and guide for team members working on more basic, less risky issues.
  • Deploy, manage and drive all standard HR processes and policies as well as adherence to applicable human resource federal and state requirements by keeping current and continually communicating and educating managers and team members on those topics.
  • Collaborate with site Safety Manager to ensure worker’s compensation claims are being handled timely and appropriately
  • Ensure the timely, accurate submission of payroll hours through team members.
  • Create and cultivate positive work relationships at all levels of the plant/organization.
  • Effectively hire, manage and mentor HR team members, share best practices and continuously identify training opportunities to develop staff.
  • Build local management’s competency in smart people practices involving the areas of workforce planning, employee relations & engagement, recruitment, communications, and talent management.
  • Locally manage the execution of talent management processes including performance management and succession planning within corporate guidelines.
  • Provide detailed reporting and analysis on headcount, salaries, budgets and other people-related issues. Interpret this data and make suitable recommendations to plant leadership.
