About The Position

The Manager of Human Resources, is responsible for stewarding a positive, compliant, and mission-aligned workplace at GSNENY. This role oversees all core human resources functions - employee relations, benefits administration, payroll, HR systems, and performance management - while also leading office operations to ensure efficient day-to-day organizational functioning.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or 3.5 years of Human Resources experience
  • Experience administering HRIS and payroll systems.
  • Demonstrated experience managing performance management processes.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Willingness to travel to off-site events.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Clean driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a nonprofit, mission-driven, or multi-site organization strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all HR operations, including employee relations, hiring, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS maintenance, and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including performance concerns, conflict resolution, investigations, and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure HR practices comply with federal, state, and local employment laws and Girl Scouts policies.
  • Partner with leadership to support organizational culture, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Administer employee benefits programs (health, retirement, leave, etc.), including vendor management, open enrollment, and employee education.
  • Maintain and optimize HRIS systems, ensuring accurate employee data, reporting, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment between payroll, benefits, separation notices and related documentation
  • Administer the annual performance management cycle, including goal-setting, reviews, and related communications.
  • Partner with leadership to support organizational culture, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Deploy toolkits and resources shared by GSUSA.
  • Hire, coach, and develop staff to build core competencies necessary for team members to be successful in their roles.
  • Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable for team-wide and individual performance goals, using regular check-ins and performance tracking.
  • Oversee team workflows and ensure consistent task completion by team members.
