About The Position

This position is located onsite in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State. This position will coordinate, plan and administer all human resources policies and programs relating to affirmative action and diversity, training and organizational development, legal and regulatory compliance, and employee and labor relations. This role will partner with managers and their teams to develop and execute the HR strategies and activities in support of the organization. The following essential job functions are performed as a Human Resources Manager: The candidate must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. The candidate shall, at all times, demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors

Requirements

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (may be exchanged for work experience in HR).
  • Must have 8+ years of HR Generalist experience.
  • Must have strong customer service skills and the ability to multitask; must possess the ability to adapt to sudden changes in schedule and consistent interruptions
  • Must have good leadership skills including the ability to inspire and motivate others to perform well; must be able to accept feedback from others.
  • Position requires considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills in the English language as well as interpersonal skills, professional appearance and work ethic.
  • Must be a dependable worker-the individual must be at work and on time.
  • Prioritize and time management of projects or assignments that need to be worked on day to day.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a group.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understands the business and is closely aligned with the business leaders in providing HR partnership
  • Conducts employee relations counseling, mediation and handles employee grievances in partnership with Director of HR
  • Strives for greater efficiency of HR services through the recommendation of new approaches to established, policies, procedures and programs
  • Leads by example and model’s behaviors that are consistent with the company's values – strong ethics and ability to pushback on leaders to do the right thing for the company and business
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, consultative and exceptional customer service skills and the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, supervisor and/or management
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment including affirmative action programs, EEO-1 reporting as well as other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO/OFCCP regulations
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as they pertain to job position
  • Oversees and ensures maintenance of the HRIS system
  • Helps with documentation of disciplinary actions, transfers, promotions and terminations and relays information to other departments involved
  • Fosters teamwork and collaborative environment within the HR Department
  • Manages and administers HR programs and policies for all site employees; as well as the development and implementation of local HR policies and procedures.
  • Acts as a member of and trusted advisor to Site Leadership team to provide input and counsel on business, people and organizational issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned
