About The Position

Human Resources (HR) Leader Position Summary: Work Schedule: Monday – Friday from 8am-5pm 100% on-site (Chelsea, MA) Catalent, Inc. is a leading global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), and the Boston-area facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in North America. Catalent Pharma Solutions is hiring an HR Leader that is responsible for creating direction for the people and organization through effective policies, procedures, guidelines and support. Human Resource Management is the organizational function that deals with issues related to people, such as: compensation, hiring, performance management, organization development, safety, wellness, benefits, employee motivation, communication, administration, and training. You will be a key member of guiding and adhering to Catalent HR policies, external laws and regulations, and Catalent’s mission and philosophy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required (preferably in HR or related field). Additional certifications highly preferred such as: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR)
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of broad and progressive experience in HR is required
  • Requires knowledge in payroll principles, advanced HR investigation abilities, expert HR policies/approach, superior customer service orientation with strong follow-up skills, and advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Workday, etc.)
  • Physical requirements: Minimal travel required. This position requires the ability to walk, sit and stand for up to 10 hours per day. Specific vision requirements include reading of written documents and frequent use of computer screens. Must be able to communicate clearly in English. Must be able to lift over 10 pounds. Must be accessible to office and manufacturing areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred to have two (2) years of experience in a management role within HR environment
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment that works in shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, days/nights rotating 7-day) to support 24/7 manufacturing preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develops and directs the establishment and maintenance of policies, procedures, plans and programs dealing with the specific activities of staffing, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employee development and training, organizational development, HR information systems to meet the site’s business plan and competitive strategy in a cost-effective manner
  • Ensures alignment of such policies, procedures, plans, programs and budgets with those of Catalent Pharma Solutions. Partners with leadership in the organization’s strategic planning efforts, providing insight on vital HR concerns and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
  • Provides counsel to managers and employees on human resources issues, organization structure and development. Develops, implements and administers an effective performance management system aimed at improving employee and organizational productivity
  • Establishes and maintains an effective and credible relationship with both management and employees; works closely with line management to provide support, planning and problem solving. Ensures implementation and administration of succession planning program
  • Plans and directs the organization’s recruitment, selection and placement of talent with the critical technical and management skills required to ensure the continuity of operations, and leadership bench strength development
  • Develops training and development plans to meet regulatory compliance while focusing on building the critical skills and competencies required to handle present and future jobs more effectively
  • Develops and implements plans to introduce and manage cultural change within the organization to improve organizational effectiveness; ensures that organizational strategies, structure and processes are consistent with evolving business needs
  • Assures compliance with laws and regulations related to employees and their relationship with their employer. Completes appropriate agency (EEOC, DOL, WCI) audits. Comply with and ensure the group’s compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental responsibilities. Help manage the department budget. In partnership with Catalent Compensation, implements and administers fair and equitable reward systems that meet the strategic and competitive demands of the business
