About The Position

Position Objective: Provide support to the Human Resources team across a variety of functional areas including recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits, payroll, and general HR administration in an onsite internship role at our Zeeland, MI facility. This role offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment. The intern will gain exposure to day-to-day HR operations while supporting initiatives that contribute to an efficient and engaging workplace. Essential Functions: · Support HR operations through maintaining and updating confidential employee records and systems. · Assist with payroll, attendance tracking, and general administrative processes as needed. · Provide day-to-day support to employees by helping address basic HR-related questions, including benefits and general inquiries. · Assist in coordinating employee programs and initiatives, including wellness activities, training sessions, and professional development efforts. · Support internal communications by drafting and editing materials such as announcements, newsletters, and reports, ensuring accuracy and professionalism. · Help facilitate routine HR processes such as employment verifications, onboarding activities, and general HR inquiries. · Assist with site-level programs including access badge management, uniform and safety programs, and other employee support processes, ensuring accurate recordkeeping. · Gain exposure to HR compliance, policies, and best practices within a manufacturing environment. · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives. · Complete additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail with a customer-service mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
